Our Seniors Deserve Dignity

OUR SENIORS DESERVE DIGNITY

Dear Friend,

This community means the world to me, and meant the world to my grandparents.

On my grandmother's deathbed, I promised that I would take care of my grandfather, her husband of 66 years. I took my grandfather everywhere in Charleston to distract him from his broken heart. A few months later, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and a terminal illness. He surprised us all and lived two years longer than doctor's predicted.

During this extremely challenging time, Charleston Jewish Family Services was there to make sure we had the support and help we needed, and made it possible for my Grandfather to stay in his home of 40 years. The Charleston Jewish community was there for me, embraced me and that love is what brought me to Charleston Jewish Federation and Jewish Family Services.

The work of caring for our elderly is so incredibly important. All of our community elders deserve to live out their days in dignity. People in our community who have hit hard times deserve a helping hand.

As staff members, we see first-hand the work that is being done to build and secure our Jewish community and we see the steps being taken to serve those members of our community who need our support.

Please invest in the future of our community by contributing to the 2019 Campaign.

Shabbat Shalom,
