A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear Friend,

I am so proud to be a part of all of the incredible things that are being accomplished, not only in our own community but also for Jews all over the world. The work that Federation does is truly remarkable and astounding.

As we kick off our 2019 Annual Jewish Community Campaign, I ask that you experience the joy of giving by making a generous pledge so you can be part of the amazing things - the miracles – that Federation is making happen for people every day.  No One Gift Touches More Jewish Lives.

One of the main reasons my family chose to live in Charleston when Stanley retired from the Navy was because of its vibrant Jewish community, its commitment to Jewish life, education, and culture. There is so much opportunity to get involved and “belong.” In addition, it is a community that cares about its members and provides for those in need. Federation is the conduit that connects people from all streams and helps them express their identities and values as Jews and as members of a Jewish community.

Yes, we have many successes and much to be proud of, but our work continues. The needs have not gone away. In fact, they continue to grow.  Going forward, we must focus on our security, our growth, and our survival.

I pledge to you that over the next two years I will work with all of you to make a positive difference in the lives of Jews not only here at home but all over the world.

I hope you will pledge along with meBecause I love the Jewish people, and I know you do too. I love Israel, and I know you do too. I love this community, and I know you do, too.

We are one people. One family. So, together, let us pledge to do wonderful things to make our community and our world a better place, not only for the Jewish people but for all humankind.
As our sages taught us, “kol yisrael arevim zeh bazeh.” We are all responsible for each other.

NO GIFT TOUCHES MORE JEWISH LIVES

Please give generously and joyously

My best,

Eileen Chepenik, President
Charleston Jewish Federation
