FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

51ST ANNUAL CELEBRATE ISRAEL PARADE IN NEW YORK
Charleston Jewish Community is a special guest

(May 7, 2015) We are thrilled to announce that the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Charleston will be a special guest of honor at the 51st Annual Celebrate Israel Parade in New York on Sunday, May 31st. Hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, this is the world’s largest celebration of Israel.

In 1965, thousands walked down Riverside Drive in support of the young State of Israel. This impromptu walk evolved into the Salute to Israel Parade on Fifth Avenue. The parade features over 30,000 marchers from many organizations. Hundreds of thousands enthusiastic spectators watch American and Israeli community leaders and dignitaries, entertainers, artists, musicians, dancers, celebrities, floats and marching bands.

The Charleston Jewish Community has been given the distinct honor of holding the opening banner at the parade. The Parade will be streamed live at http://celebrateisraelny.org/

If you cannot join us, then please watch us!
