Announcing Shalom POP and our Shalom POP Coordinators!

Powered by the Charleston Jewish Federation

Good news for 5778 - we’re launching Shalom POP (parents of pre-schoolers)! Designed for ages 1 through pre-school, Shalom POP will host events from playground days to group outings  - all with crafts, stories, and activities. These monthly events will expose your little one to their Jewish culture in an age-appropriate way they can appreciate and digest.

Save the dates for the following upcoming events:

  • Sunday, October 8 (10 -11:30 am) - Playground at Riverland Terrace (James Island)

  • Sunday, November 5 (10-11:30 am) - Playground at Gadsdenboro Park (near Aquarium)

  • Sunday, December 17 (4-6 pm) - Community Chanukah in the Square Event

  • Tuesday, December 19 (5 pm) - Festival of Lights toddler event at James Island County Park (in partnership with KKBE)

Join us to meet other families and help make this an amazing Shalom POP community. What a great way to start the new year!

Announcing our new Shalom POP Coordinators! This dynamic duo will be facilitating playgroups for your little ones and can't wait to hear from you about what you'd like to see!
Sarah Myer has lived in Charleston since 2006 and is mom to Jake (11 months). She's excited about connecting families to one another, the greater Charleston community, and their Jewish heritage. Becoming a parent has revealed a new perspective on perpetuating a Jewish identity and she looks forward to collaborating with others about how to instill values and meaning among the next generation.
Lauren Manaker moved to James Island from South Florida (Go Gators!) in 2008 and lives with her husband Matt, daughter Hannah, and fur-baby Bella. She is passionate about supporting young families and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this amazing community through PJ Library!

PJ Library and PJ Our Way is an investment in our Jewish future and is made possible through the generous support of local donors, including:

Linda and David Cohen
Ellen and Harry Nadler
Herb Rosner
Gina and Sam Shapiro, in honor of Freddie and Milton Kronsberg (OBM)
